ToggleThis was the most gorgeous Claytor Lake State Park Elopement. Matt and Jaci are just the sweetest couple and such good people inside and out. They stay busy as they both work in the hospital, so this laid back ceremony made a lot of sense for everyone’s schedule. While inviting a small gathering of family and close friends was easy because this location is close.
We start the day off with some portraits at the park. They wanted to skip the detail shots, getting ready and first look. That is the beauty of eloping you really can do it any way that you want to. When I say everything that you want and nothing that you don’t that could not be more true.
It was such a sunny day outside and just beautiful weather. The love was shining through along with the sun. We seriously could not have asked for better weather on a more perfect day. The location was a great choice for their ceremony. Right on the water looking out across the lake. The water was calm. It was peaceful and quiet. The Airbnb was right on the water so within walking distance.
This was such a sweet and simple ceremony. There were a few family and friends gathered around sitting in chairs. A light breeze was blowing through the air. The smell of water wafted in the air. The couple’s dogs were wandering in and out of the ceremony in their wedding attire. It truly was picture perfect. There was a boho triangle arch with a beautiful display of fresh flowers that matched the bouquet. The arch was on the pier right on the water. You can see right through it the water shimmering in the sunlight.
After the ceremony everyone gathered around a table under the awning for a group shot of the grooms favorite tequila. The family gathered around and we took some portraits to memorialize the day for them. Then we all gathered around the bride and groom while they cut their beautiful rustic cake covered with fresh flowers. There was a beautiful table setting set up for the barbecue they had been cooking all day long. All to be eaten with drinks around the love of friends and family. All in all the total picture made for the most beautiful day!
A Claytor Lake State Park Elopement is such a great idea if you are looking for something simple and intimate. This is the perfect kind of secluded place to really just be with a few friends and family. Or maybe even just the two of you alone. It’s a gorgeous location on the calm water surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a clean state park with minimal fees for elopements.
